Hi, my name is Jillian Sytsma and I’m a junior at Memorial. I perform in musicals and play the flute and piano. Memorial theater and band class are a big part of my life. I have made really amazing friends and learned so much from Mr. Jaeger. I had a lot of social problems coming from a private school to a public school. Band was my way to meet people who love music just as much as I do. Theater has always been a way to express myself. Memorial’s theater made me feel unified with other students I normally wouldn’t get to know. What I wish my school could have for our arts programs is bigger practice rooms, a place to store our instruments, a set building room, and of course a big auditorium. Our auditorium doesn’t have wings, bathrooms and dressing rooms. It has made it incredibly difficult to perform in.
